Delta NUJ Leaders Congratulates DBS, Asaba, General Manager

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council have congratulated the Asaba General Manager of the Delta State Broadcasting Service (DBS), Comrade Frankwhite Osabonhien, on the occasion of his birthday anniversary.
The NUJ congratulated the GM when its Chairman, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu led some leaders of the union to the GM’s office in Asaba.
Speaking on behalf of the union during the visit, the Chairman, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu, stated that the visit became necessary considering the infrastructural development of the station since Comrade Osabohien took over as the GM of the station, adding that the GM as a practising journalist had made the union proud in the state with not only his appointment as the GM of the broadcasting outfit, but for positively repositioning the station within a short space of time.
He said that the governor of the state, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, deserved the applause of journalists in the state for the appointment of Osabohien as the GM of the station, adding that the novel infrastructural transformation of the station under the watch of Comrade Osabohien called for a better retrospection of the fortune of the station before he took over the management of the station.
Comrade Ikeogwu wished the celebrant a blissful celebration, many fruitful and heathy years ahead as well as the enabling capacity and wisdom to continue to pilot the affairs of the media outfit towards the realisation of the Stronger Delta vision of the state government.
Responding, The GM thanked Comrade Ikeogwu and his entourage for the visit, saying that he was particularly happy that Comrade Ikeogwu emerged the Chairman of the union in state because of the chairman’s responsiveness to the welfare and growth of the Union.
He said that the union should live up to its responsibility of positively transforming the society by ensuring that journalists adhere strictly to the ethics of the Journalism profession, while also guiding those in government to the right path of good governance.
He thanked the state governor for giving accelerated approvals for the upgrading of the station, saying that the public would henceforth get the best broadcasting service in the state and beyond.
